Hemp-based products have become so popular in recent years, not just because it’s a natural alternative to increased health, but it has been scientifically proven over and over to help with a wide range of conditions and health issues.
I started drinking hemp tea a couple of months ago after realising that self-medicating my daily stresses with wine was getting out of hand. Following the pandemic and family bereavement, the glass now and again had become open a bottle, finish the bottle. Not great for all kinds of reasons – it interfered with my sleep, and it left me feeling out of sorts and edgy during the day.
To be honest, I was cynical especially when I heard about the cost of premium hemp brands like The Tonic Tribe. I later learned that premium hemp teas are infused with a unique, organic full spectrum variety that is designed to be ingested. Apparently, lots of other versions on the market use chemically produced isolates or broad-spectrum varieties and they are just not as effective.
Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained, I decided to give it a go. And boy, am I glad that I did.
I had read much about the benefits of hemp tea. The key ones, widely acknowledged, are:
Although hemp products should not replace medication a person is taking for a health condition, traditional medicine practitioners have used hemp products for thousands of years to manage many health conditions. If you would like a natural alternative to help manage sleep, pain and inflammation, hemp tea is definitely for you!
While there is no single, correct answer to this, we feel as little as one cup a day is enough to start feeling the benefits after a few weeks.
The bottom line: It really did. And it still does.
Instead of popping that cork (well unscrewing the top), I sat with my cup of tea.
Like having the wine, it felt a treat come the evening, a reward for getting through the day. Best of all, it really did calm my nerves. It didn’t make me sleepy but it did leave me feeling mellow, chilled out and relaxed, rather like the wine but without any of the drawbacks.
In fact, an added bonus was the fabulous night’s sleep I enjoyed afterwards.
My brand of choice was The Tonic Tribe. I’ve tried all the other flavours now – there are five. Whilst they are all yummy, I think my favourite is the Cleansing Blossom – it’s made with a naturally low in caffeine white tea and real flowers.
I make it in my cafetiere – really easy – just pour on boiling water and allow it to steep for five minutes or so, push down the pump and pour. And It looks so pretty in the glass, with the yellow and blue petals swirling about!
It smells and tastes delicately floral and is so very, very lovely. I enjoy a cup (or two) most evenings now and my sleep continues to be much deeper and more refreshing. I have now even swapped my barista coffee for CBD Tea.
I enjoyed the products at The Tribe so much that we have partnered with them to bring you a super exciting deal: use code HAPPY10 to get an extra 10% discount on all their products.
They have 5 different organic, luxurious tea blends, all with their own health benefits!
A final word of advice: if you are going to embark on a hemp journey, we really recommend to expend a little bit more and purchase premium brands. Commit to it for some time, ensure
